谢谢大家这个学期来上中文课。

 

这个学期，老师知道你们一笔一画地学着写汉字、一年级的同学看着“爱美、高兴和可心”的故事发笑，二年级的同学很认真地学着红楼梦的爱情（中国版的罗密欧与朱丽叶），也很努（被）力（迫）地把孔子说的话跟2500年后我们的生活连结在一起。谢谢你们学中文学得如此认真，更谢谢你们在课上给予朋友的支持，让我们上课的时候，就像个大家庭。

 

谢谢你们创作出了这么精彩的期末视频。老师希望这是一个有关于世代与时代的回顾，能我们有机会反思前两个世代与这一代年轻人的生活，特别是在三个不同的时代里，在不同土地上的人生故事。从每一位同学的视频中，老师看到了你们在中文课外的世界，我们也看到了大家与亲人共享的过去与现在，那未来呢？一家人，是最好的缘分，愿你们珍惜未来的旅程。

 

同样地，语言是认识世界的工具，学中文，也许帮助你看到了过去与现在，老师也希望中文能为你的未来带来更多的机会、更大的天空。

 

这个学期很短，但是希望我们能有着长长的缘分，我们下个学期见！

Thank you all for coming to Chinese class this term.

 

This term, Laoshi knows you guys spent a lot of time learning and practicing how to write Chinese.  The students of CHIN 141 found the story of “Ai Mei, Gao Xing, and Ke Xin” amusing, and the students of CHIN 241 spent their time and dedication learning the love story “The Dream of the Red Chamber” (The Chinese version of Romeo and Juliet), and trying very hard (or forced) to connect the words of Confucius with our lives 2500 years later. Thank you for all the hard work learning Chinese, even more so the help you gave your fellow classmates and friends during class, turning our class into a family. 

 

Thank you all for creating such exciting final videos. Laoshi hopes this becomes a meaningful memory and reflection about generation and time, allowing us to reflect on the past two generations with our current generation. In particular, reflecting on the life stories from various continents within the three different generations. From the videos of each student, Laoshi saw your life outside of Chinese class, we also saw everyone’s past and present with their loved ones, but what about the future? One family together is the best fate. I hope you all cherish your future journey. 

 

Likewise, as language is a tool for understanding the world, learning Chinese may have helped you reflect on the past and present. Laoshi also hopes Chinese will bring more opportunities in your future, providing you with a wider horizon!

 

Although this term was short, I hope we can continue this journey together. We shall see each other next term!
